This website is hosted on external servers provided by Namecheap, Inc. (USA). When you visit, the infrastructure automatically stores server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, browser type and version, operating system and referrer URL. This data is technically necessary to display the website securely and stably; the legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data transfer to the USA is protected via standard contractual clauses (SCCs) and alignment with the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
If you contact us by email, the data you provide (name, email address, message content) is processed to handle your inquiry and follow-up questions. Legal basis: performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
The free website check (hurzhi.com/check.html and the panel on the homepage) sends the address you enter to my server, which then loads that website's public homepage. For each check I store the address, the result, the time and a pseudonymised connection identifier (a hash of your IP address, the date and a secret key, which changes daily and cannot be reversed) together with the browser name and referring page. The legal basis is my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating the tool, preventing abuse and understanding how it is used. Reports are cached for one hour; log entries are deleted after 90 days. If you request the full report, your email address and the note you enter are stored with the request and emailed to me; they are used only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and deleted with the correspondence.
No cookies are set until you decide. On your first visit a small notice asks whether the visit may be counted. Your answer is stored in your browser's local storage (key hz-consent) so the notice does not reappear; this entry contains no personal data and is technically necessary to remember your choice.
Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you click "Allow". It is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*, lifetime up to 2 years) to distinguish returning visitors and records which pages are viewed, approximate location (country/region, derived from a truncated IP address), device and browser type and the referring page. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. Data may be processed by Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses are in place. Statistics are kept for 14 months. I use them only to see which pages are read; there is no advertising, no remarketing and no linking to other Google services. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 165(3) TKG 2021).
You can withdraw or change your decision at any time: change my analytics choice. Withdrawing consent stops further collection; you can also delete the cookies in your browser. Google's own privacy information: policies.google.com/privacy.
No other analytics, tracking or advertising services are used.
Web fonts are self-hosted; no connection to Google or other third-party servers is established when loading this site.
Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by statutory retention periods. Under Austrian tax and business law (UGB, BAO), business correspondence and invoices must be retained for 7 years.
You have the rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). To exercise any of these rights, contact michael@hurzhi.com.
